GAYVILLES
David & Joan Hall
Our first involvement with dogs together was in 1964. Two months after we were married we purchased a long coat bitch, Donna. Her Sire was Overhill Delta and her Dam was from the Lynhurst Kennels.Joan worked Donna in Obedience.

In 1972 we became actively involved in the breed and showing side of GSDs when we purchased a 7 month old bitch puppy, named Numark's Minuet - Sire: Rossfort Oran of Kenmil; Dam: Numarks Fionas Finesse.

Kirsty mated to Champion Spartacist of Hendrawens and produced our first CC winning animals, Gayvilles Ambition and Allacanti.

Our first choice of Affix was not acceptable by the Kennel Club which would have been Linhall - a combination of both Joan and my surnames, i.e. Collins and Hall. At the time Joan was competing with Springer Spaniels, very successfully, and the spaniels being such gay, happy dogs, Joan decided on the name Gayville.

We have had many favourites over the years, but with much deliberation we believe our most favourite GSDs to be Meik & Nadja von der Talquelle. They were our first involvement with German imports (personally) and believe they taught us much which eventually led to our greater success in GSDs.

Without any doubt at all our most favourite animal in the world has to be Odin von der Tannenmeise. When we saw him the first time he looked magnificent and our opinion of him never altered.
