***Meet Us***
Mirrwood German Shepherds
The Mirrwood kennel was established in 1984 following an eight year interest in the breed. Our first shepherd became a handful and it was decided I eitlier get rid of him or train him. Opting for the latter he soon proved his worth and started to win at obedience shows, swiftly winning out of beginners and novice. After eighteen months he was winning at the highest level. His name was Luther.
Our foundation bitch, Chaka,(Chincoteagues Oddyssy )was bought to show, but she wasn 't really good enough and so she embarked upon a career in the agility world. Her best claim to fame was a third place. A photo taken on that day showed her to be the only shepherd in the first six, alongside five collies. Chaka has whelped three litters, from the 'D' litter Mirrwood. Django and
D'vina both won at Open Show level. Django was placed fourth in his first Championship Show.
Asti became our first show bitch, winning well at Open Show level. Asti was also the dam of the 'C' litter Mirrwood.

Verdi, a one time kennel mate to Asti, was successful at both Open and Championship Show level. Verdi qualified for Crufts in 1989.
Nikki was purchased to complement our stock, as she is a product of Cito and Uran bloodlines, taking her appearance from Uran. Nikki produced the 'F' litter Mirrwood, which contained three long coats.
We purchased a bitch from a friend of ours as a young pup. We called her Whitney. She mothered our 'G' litter.
Following a problem with a very good German bred bitch, we received Marti (Chanask Enya) as a replacement. Marti produced the 'E' litter Mirrwood, one of which we retained Mirrwood Enya or "Cee-Cee" as she is known. Cee-Cee was the joint top puppy bitch for 1993 in the GSD showing world. Marti was the mother of the 'H' litter. Marti died in 1999 of cancer.
Cee-Cee is has shown well throughout her career. She was named the Top Young Bitch in the UK for 1995. A record we are proud of In November 1996 she was made a champion. Sadly she died in late 2000.Her daughter, Irma, from the 'I' litter has also shown well, being one of the top bitches in the country. Three have been shown from the 'J' Litter. Mirrwood Jurgen is a very striking male who competes well. He is also a popular stud and sire of Champion Drumbiels Chadwick of Drumwhannan.
Cee-Cee was the mother of the 'K' Litter. The 'K' litter produced two show winners.
Mirrwood Jade was the mother of our 'M' litter.
Irma was the mother of the 'N' & 'P' litters. We retained Panto from this litter to show.
Our next venture is uncharted territory. We have Nua, or Maddie as she is known, and Irma ready to be mated to a top German Sire under the new passport for pets.Who knows what the future holds???
